Call for performers and creatives

CRIPtic is a showcase of D/deaf and disabled artists happening in the Pit Theatre at the Barbican Centre on Friday the 11th and Saturday 12th of October 2019. It will be half of a double-bill night, along with a solo show by Jamie Hale, titled NOT DYING.

Applications to work and perform at CRIPtic are now formally closed – thank you all for your incredible applications! If you were unable to apply before they closed, but are interested in working or performing at CRIPtic, please email and we’ll see what we can do.

It is currently open for artists and creatives to apply to work on the show and perform, rehearsals will be from Monday the 7th to Saturday the 12th October 2019. All roles are paid.

We are looking for approximately four to six D/deaf and disabled groups or individual musicians, singers, dancers, poets, spoken word artists, comedians, musicians and any other D/deaf and disabled performers to take part. You do not have to be a traditional performer, but you can be. Sets are approx. 15 minutes. Themes should be around the anger, resilience and  joy of living as D/deaf and disabled in the world. This is paid and we will be applying to Arts Council England for funding to support it.

We are also looking for a D/deaf and disabled team of creatives – everyone from director to producer, lighting and sound, photography, choreography, composing – and everything else you might do – if you’re D/deaf or disabled, we want you! Again, this is paid and we will be applying to Arts Council England for funding to support it.
